48 49 50 Instrument Switch Panel Electrical
#41
Just can't stay away
Just can't stay away

Johnny
Getting close to completing my new Wire Harness for my '47.

As for the Instrument Switch Panel, I have:

Instrument Lamp Switch with 3 Bullet Connectors. Which Bullets attach to which connections on this switch? There are 2 connections, one with a "B", and one with an "L". The one with the "L" allows for 2 Bullets.

Blower Switch with 2 Bullet Connectors. The switch has 2 connections. One with a "B", and one with an "M".

On the Headlamp Switch, there are 5 connections; 4 are marked with "T", "B", "L" & "P". The 5th connection shows nothing. What goes here" The 6 wires I have going to the switch are all accounted for going to the 4 labeled connections (2 go to "T", and 2 go to "B").

Thanks a bunch!

OK, I think I got it. Because my switch is just like your first photo, I will assume that my post with the double rivets is "B". And I can choose for myself which of the other posts go where? I can put the double wire to one post, and the single wire to the other with no worries?

Thanks for the great info, but I guess I am still very confused. My switch is very similar to your first photo. There are no markings anywhere, not even a "B" like what is shown in the photo. My wiring diagrams all show these wires as going to posts 1, 2 & 3 with 2 wires going to post 1. Any more help on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a bunch.

Pulled my 3-speed from my '48, and pulled my Ultramatic from my '50. I am going to place the Ultramatic into my '48. Do I need to worry about the gear ratio in any way?

SO I finally got around to figuring the wire length. It is 96", but I am not 100% sure of the routing. I chose the best path to where the wire was not in the way of anything and nothing could harm it (hinges, etc. Thanks again for your help on this.

10 feet. Wow. A little longer than I thought. Thank you for this. I have my new Wire Harness just about complete, less everything in the trunk. This will help.
