There is a 1955 Packard rolling chassis for sale in the Pittsburgh PA Craigslist. I went check it out. It's engine number is 5562-3653. The body was tossed 25 years ago. It's been sitting since. The engine is stuck but complete. It's a 4 bbl. The frame is junk. Non pushbutton automatic. I know this isn't the for sale section, but I'm not selling bit. But it's $200 bucks.

I would look to see where it was made & try to date the electric motor if you can. A Packard clock from the 50's will look like most clocks of that era from the back. Also the type of electrical cord & plug would would look old.

If you go to a search engine & look up Sams Photofact, you can get info on any radio. Unfortunately you may have to buy the info. There may be free info also. Public libraries sometimes have them.

I purchased mine on ebay 3 1/2 years ago, no problems yet. It was the "Best Gasket" sold by various sellers. I purchased the full set but see you can get just the head gaskets.

Log on to Ebay item number 261393105409 to get a view where you tube ends. It just goes through the "hot exhaust" portion of the intake. If you can get your finger or a small mirror under the manifold see if the end is also loose. Copper tubing might work too. If the tube is not broken than actual exhaust fumes will not be leaking. I don't know if the tube inside has holes drilled in it. I think it just sucks up heat through the choke cover. Hope this helps.

Back in May I posted a picture of a 55, today I drove past it and the cover was blown off. Here's what it looks like now.
