As of this last preceeding photo, everything should be in the Car Show Pictures section. Great images. Thanks

bernardi, the first link worked for me too. I checked the 1937 colors and the Packard Cream looks much like the color on my 115C. I also checked the 1947 colors and the Cavalier Maroon looks much darker than the color on my Clipper. Great site, thanks for sharing.

The Packard factory is featured in opening scenes of "Hung" a new HBO series that takes place in Detroit.

I recall seeing small electric fans directed towards the carburetor on early 1970s Datsuns. I believe this method was used by other makes too.

Istelling, I would like to add my thanks for these photos too. I even recognized a few of the cars. I notice that some cars have fire extinguishers and some do not. Is there a requirement for extinguishers at these meets? AACA requires them. Also, may the photos be included in the Car Show Pictures section?

One other thing I think worth mentioning is some fuel pumps were fitted with an expansion chamber on the outlet side of the pump. I do not know what problem the chamber was trying to cure, but these chambers were a common item. I don't know if they were on Carter and AC pumps or just one of them. Neither of my Packards ('37 Six and '47 Custom Clipper) have one; although, the pump on the 47 has a place that can be drilled and tapped to fit one. I will probably add it when I have the pump off for inspection.

Dave, not a student of Hemingway? This reminds me of a story I heard about him. As it goes someone bet Hemingway that he could not write a story with just six words. He did, and here it is. For sale, baby shoes, never worn. He was a man of few words, and I enjoyed your explanation of MTBE. Thanks.

Can anyone share information about the fuel injected Packard? I would enjoy hearing about, and I am sure others would too, what kind of system, how it was adapted, how its working, cost, maintenance, etc. Thanks.

While the parent languishes, its prodigy is having a second chance at life. The Proving Grounds are coming back to life! To paraphrase a well know known English writer: Packard is dead, long live Packard!
