Beautiful car. Everything suggests 41 Super 8 with electromatic clutch. The only thing that confuses me is the junior outside handles. The inside roll-up window handles says 160

I have known Nat for many years. Yes his is the first V8 Packard built. serial # 1001. He says that a Texas car should have the horns. Great guy. I wish I had known he had that Pegasus. Regards, John

I have 2 heads in my garage that say thunderbolt on them. $40 plus shipping. Trouble is it might cost too much to ship them across the country. Regards, John

Bill, try spraying WD-40 into the wiper motor. Most of the time the diaphragm has just dried out. It worked on mine.

I have 2 or 3 of these pumps, the diaphragms need rebuilding. If you don't want to rebuild these, kanter has rebuilt units. I bought mine for around $150 with a core trade in.

I had the same problem with my 41 160 until I switched to 89 octane gasoline. I can't tell you why, but it worked.

I have to set my timing by ear. I do not have a pointer on my crank pulley. When I first installed the Pertronix, the timing was so advanced that the spark was fighting the pistons when trying to start. I then timed it by ear and it works flawlessly.
