Hey guys, What are the best plug wires to use on my 54 Clipper? I put new do it yourself wires on, carbon fibre, is this wrong or should it have the solid metal core type?

I had the timing and compression checked, both were good. Like I said, it has to be something simple. I have rechecked everything, just missing something somewhere.

Car i s completely original. Wiring harness and all. Everything I have replaced on the car appears to be the factory original stuff, except the spark plugs. I had it compression checked awhile back , it was good and motor is in time. Before I rebuilt the carb, it started leaking gas from all the gaskets and would only run if someone used a spray bottle and mist gas down the carb. Now nothing. Carb is getting gas and plugs have fire. I am at a loss. One of you guys could spend five minutes with it and have it on the road , I bet. Do, my loss , your gain. I have a child with severe medical disabilities, we need transportation, asap, for the multitude of medical visits he has every month. I have no one around us that will even look at the car, because they cant hook it up to a computer. Sad, but true. Its just me and my kids and money is very tight. I need to sell or trade it for something that runs, preferably another older car. I have always had vintage cars and done most all the work myself. This car has kicked my butt, several times. I am sure the problem is something simple, like you said. I just dont have time to fool with it. My son found the car, the kids picked it out, they love it. They sit in it and pretends it runs again. They will mutiny if we part with it, but there is no public transportation where we live, and walking every where is killing me. So, somebody, anybody, come buy it. Please.

Thanks for posting the pics for me John. I rechecked the plugs, they are clean and gapped correct. Also double checked fire with in line tester. Getting fire and getting gas. Somebody take this home please. I need a car that runs and this is my only car.

You answer my questions before I ask them, your good. First was what an ez out looked like and if Lowes would have them, and second, if my drill on reverse would work. Now we are making progress !! Thanks. I will update my post after I aquire completion. Thanks again to everybody for the help. I hope I can help in return sometime.
