Question about 1947 Super Clippers

Did any Super Clipper come with a 288 in 1947? I thought they all came with 356's, but someone I spoke to told me a few came with the 288. Can anyone clear this up?
Thanks!
Paul

Thanks--I got one from Sears today, and all the valves and components are out.

I ended up buying my pump from Max Merritt. It arrived quickly and works great. No noises or any other problems.

What kind of valve spring compressor is used to remove valves/springs/lifters from a 356?
Thanks!

Well, my 356 prospect fell through. Thanks for the input everyone! I'll continue my search for a complete motor (or a donor car).

I ordered a rebuilt water pump from Max Merritt. $110.00 plus shipping (and a $100 core charge).

Thanks everyone. I'm going to take a look at the parts tomorrow. Hopefully I'll come home with a complete motor.

I may have an opportunity to buy a used 356 for my Super Clipper. My car currently has a 288 (installed by someone in the past). Will the bell housing, intake and exhaust manifolds, and other engine "hang-ons" from the 288 fit the 356?
Thanks!
