I sure am sorry to hear that. I'm sure you've been too busy to post on the Z3 sites too. How much boost were you running? Hope it's a simple gasket replacement, best of luck.

Hang in there, the fuel line can be changed anytime.

Henry,I've been following your build since you posted it on a Z3 forum. I just read since I don't have much to add, but at 64 these cars were the type I was always working on. The picture in the "junkyard" reminded me that when I was a kid I wanted to own a junkyard someday!
Yeah copper prices are high and that doesn't help. You do have a lot of polishing and sanding to do though so you don't have to sit in front of the tv.
Are you going to sew your own upholstery?
Bob

Glad to see you back! I followed you over from the Z3 site and check often to see how the restoration is going, but don't post because I don't have anything of substance to post. I really enjoy following this because of the detail you go into. I'm just an old car guy with eclectic tastes. I'm old enough to remember these cars and to have worked on many of this vintage. I even kept a record book on every repair/gas purchase on a 1965 Mercury I owned so I really enjoyed reading the old records. I bet there are others like me who enjoy sharing in your work who never post. So Thanks for sharing your project!

OK I registered just to answer this, I followed you over from the Z3 message board and follow your project regularly. I'm old enough to remember these cars and enjoy seeing the restoration. I came very close to getting a 1941 Packard 2 years ago but my brother in law sold it without telling me.
