I what I am calling the reserve tank is the vacuum tank. There isn't an electric fuel pump. The fuel is running out of the air intake while it is running. Both the vacuum tank and carburetor work on another 640.

Does anyone have any ideas why the gas would be running out of the carburetor? I have swapped the reserve tank and carburetor with known good units the work on other cars and I still have the have gas running out of the carburetor when we start the car. It behaves like the fuel system has too much pressure. Any insights to what could be causing this problem would be appreciated.

It is a 5 passenger sedan that we are learning about. My father in-law did a body off restoration in 60's, but he never had the correct carburetor. Now since we have found the right carburetor, we don't have the correct linkage.
There is another 1929 640 red Packard convertible coupe being restored near me that I have looked at to figure out which parts I needed. They have used some of our parts for patterns. I have up loaded some photos (not the best quality--poor lighting) to help identify the parts that I am looking for.

This forum has been extremely useful to us in the past. We have inherited at 1929 Packard 640 and we are looking for throttle linkage between the firewall and carburetor. Does anyone know where we might find these parts?
