this sounds interesting ,but i wonder besides the fact that 700r4 parts are more abundant, if there would be a benefit to an overdrive trans vs the ultramatic in performance and mpgs i don't think i would do the conversion anytime soon

the reason chevy and ford are more appealing to the market today is the fact that they made so many of them compared to packard . chevy's and ford's are pretty easy to find and restore. they where cheaper car back in the day so during the hot rod boom that was the common car and along came the following for that style, also many movies of that era portrayed the rebel kid driving a 55 chevy or a ford. and everybody likes that image of days gone by. packards are seen more as a family or a grandpas car. but that aside i for one love the looks of a packard

All 51-54 front fenders fit if you move around the trim holes. Front doors exchange all 4-dr sedans 53-54, and rear doors are all the same 51-53 on the 127" wheelbase cars like yours. You can even install 54, 55, or 56 rear doors for a quite different look.

This is one of the big advantages of the cars built by the small indepenents. Since they could not afford to make big changes every year, you have a lot more options for interchange.

so what about quarter panels would 51's fit or are some different
i need to find some as mine are pretty bad

hello,i just got this 1953 caviler engine was gone through and and set in the machine shed, the engine was toped off with oil
to prevent it freezing up,before i bought it. i turn the engine from now and then cause its going to be awhile before i can get to it. i have been researching into the caviler model but other than what specs and statistics on the model there really isn't much talk about the caviler why is this? it dosent seen to be too many of these left or what?
