Who has these? I'm trying to save a few phone calls. Anyone get me to the source ASAP? Did my photo download?

356 Marine Engine and transmission restoration question
#2

I have this engine and transmission ready to test run after a very complete rebuild. I do not know what the transmission calls for as a proper lubricant. I am not OK with a guess, I would like to see it in writing in a Packard Shop Manual. So far, I don't know where to look. I have a Gray Marine manual, but that is a different transmission. Anyone have a connection to a printed reference? I have a copy of the Packard Marine Engine specification and engineering data, but no information in it regrading what lubrication product types to use.

Anyone have one? The wire wheel cap that attaches to the wheel, NOT the screw-on smaller inner cap. Did my picture attach? I am in Napa Ca.

Reminds me when I took the 29 I restored to a show and the judges, after just inspecting the Model A Ford in my class that had a complete tool kit laid out for display, asked to see the Packard tool kit.. Since I had NO tool kit in the car I responded with: "TOOL KIT? This is a PACKARD, it does not NEED a tool kit!" Seems they were NOT impressed.. The Model A Ford took first in class.

Re: 1925 Model 243 Need Engine Parts Help

Back to the 2nd series engine. I am missing the oil rectifier system and a few other parts. but I can move forward if I can find out how others have dealt with missing pieces of this system. Specifically, the manifold that is placed inside the valve lifter galley with the connectors to the holes in base of each cylinder. If I just dont use this, the crank case gases caused by combustion just enter the valve lifter galley through the open holes. I dont see the harm of leaving these open..

Re: 1929 640 Rear pinion seal

Yes, it has a 640 rear end. I took a .010 clean up cut on the yoke, polished it out nicely. Then got a double lip seal to replace the felt. Made sure I had the slinger in place and all of the drain holes clear.
BUT what I found out was the driveshaft was WAY out of true.. So off to the driveline service for a new balanced shaft. Road test coming up next week.

Anyone have an extra 21" disc wheel for the 2nd series Sedan project I am working on?

I should add a note. YES, I know it is a felt style seal and YES, I know I can get the felt insert. BUT the steel cage is damaged, the input yoke quite worn and I want to fix this leak.
Anyone???
