This looks like a distributor hold down to me, but I don't remember having one. Might it go somewhere else? The slot is throwing me. Something on the tranny or O/D perhaps? I'm completely lost.

Appreciate the help.

A hold down clip for the speedometer drive gear bushing, where it is mounted to the transmission?

No, its the hold down for the road draft tube at the back of the block.
