That is not an actual picture. It's a sales slide and not accurate.
As built there was a valve threaded vertically into the cylinder head top (the original tended to leak and ruin a nice paint job unless soldered open or shut). The return line was as illustrated but used two heavy gauge sheet metal guides for the return tube which bolted under the cylinder head acorns. Some cars have a threaded plug already in place. Getting the plug out may be a difficult task. As well, the dealer installed unit was often crooked because parallax occurred if drilling through the firewall from the engine compartment side.

Thanks very much Tim. Do you happen to know where I might find a picture of those connections ? Any idea where these parts might be sourced ?

No idea how similar 34 and 35 installs were but in reference to Tim's post about the plug in the head and the metal tube here is a Packard bit from 1935.

Thanks a lot Howard, If you don't mind, "where did you find this info" ?
Anyway, one other question, for either you or Tim... per the attached pictures, is this the other plug that is mentioned ? The one that doesn't need to be drilled, obviously ? Attach file: (12.02 KB) (15.29 KB)
