Did 33-35 Owen-Dyneto Starter Switch solenoid OD21518, on a factory PACKARD engine, have an O-D oval Decal ????????

-I have never seen a Decal in a factory photo
-Have seen a replacement NOS in box that has the Decal
-Have never seen one on virgin engines
-PARTS BOOK does not show Decal on its assy or the cover.

Whats your take ???????????

No definitive proof one way or the other but I think it's a bit like the L-6 oil filter paint, OEM as supplied on the new car as shipped was different than the factory service part despite the fact that they both came from the same supplier. On the starter solenoid I suspect the factory service replacements had the decal but the original solenoid as installed on the car at assembly did not. At least that fits the evidence I've seen over the years. I'll admit that this seems inconsistent when compared with the generator control from the same supplier; I believe those units as shipped with the car from assembly had decals (2).

But with so few cars built, perhaps it's not appropriate to assume everything was that consistent.
