I picked this part up from one of the vendors great OEM part good condition but the brace does not look right for the coupe or am i just not seeing how it works, one of the angled ends has to go against to trunk lid so the one piece is actually way too small the other might work but the plate isnt straight up and down when used alone.....i have no idea if the plate is supposed to be straight or lay with the trunk, how long should the brace be????????

Edit: sorry guys to many irons in the fire, I fill stupid

Sounds like you have a sedan assembly. As stated be fore a picture would be great. I don't have my parts book with me, but am sure the coupe and sedan are different.

I found two different assemblies listed in parts book. I would say if the handle and lock all work to open and close the trunk use it. One thing you have wrong is the short tube goes inside the trunk. Look at the pictures, brown car is my 42 other one is a friends 41-110 that lives in my shop, You can always get a longer tube and bolt and bind the support after you unbolt it from the pot metal ( do not bend attached to the pot metal ). Good luck
