I believe they are the same. I've very occasionally seen that on a Packard but have no way of knowing if some later owner purchased and added it. Not commonly seen to say the least.

There was a previous thread on these and they were determined that they came out mid 1938. Some people put them on sidemount spares to spruce them up and on the back trunks of some other cars so people would know what car was ahead of them.

1936 and 1937 120's Are what we like best. But we also like all other Packards too.

Kind of interesting that Packard was doing this in 1938. The public did not recognize a Packard?

The chicken or the egg comes to mind. The letter indicates that this emblem was being put on cars, so did it already exist or was it made just for this reason?

Reminds me of the Packard script that was put on 56 Clippers.
