Continuation of my 37 115c work.
The inner splash cover bottom rubber edge was hard and basically disintegrated when we pulled the front clip.

Research found a cloth impregnated material from STEELE RUBBER and rivets from Tacoma screw.

I was able to do a fairly close replication of the edge and made a templet for the piece on 1" chart paper.

Thanks for the info., I'm going to be doing this in the spring.

I had to cut the rivets cross wise to allow me to hand set them with a center punch and large drift punch, I do not have a press so this allowed me to get a good compression of the rivets.

Hi Larry,

That's a great tip for cinching the rivets down; I'm going to borrow that innovation with your permission! LOL Also, I'm a sailor and in repairing canvas, there is an inexpensive kit available for knurling over the rivets of male and female canvas snaps, that I think would work well for this application. It uses a standard pair of vice grips which can be adjusted for 'depth' as one deals with longer and shorter stemmed rivets. Worth a look. Chris.

Did you use the 3/16 x 1/4 size rivets?

How far past the bottom edge of the metal does the rubber extend?
