Both the braided ground straps are missing from my car. Currently there is a 40" thin battery cable between the battery and a bolt on where the transmission mounts to the engine.
I'd like to replace with the correct braided ground straps. But, the parts manual doesn't specify lengths. There is one strap between the battery and the frame. There is another strap between the "transmission case" and the frame. Any ideas on the lengths of these? 5/16 terminals on the non battery ends? Also any pictures of the exact mounting points would be helpful. Thanks!

Can you find any unused bolt holes or likely bolts in the approximate locations shown on the wiring diagram. If you can then a rough measurement between trans case and the frame plus maybe a inch or so slack for movement should get you fairly close to that length. Max shows the other battery side cable right at 10". Of course, that assumes the modern battery posts are in the same locations.
