Can someone tell me what material was used on the bottom of the inner fender panels ?
Was it leather,rubber? Does anyone reproduce them ?
How was it fastened?

Six, Eight, Super Eight, or Twelve? I don't know if they were all the same but it would help to know which chassis is in question. I've not taken note of these on late prewar cars, but later the lower flexible sections were simple rubber sheeting which you can buy from any industrial supply house in any one of dozens of compositions, finishes and thicknesses. In the few I've taken note of, the rubber was stapled to the steel panel, though I can't guarantee that is how they left Detroit.

It looks like it was stapled at the lower edge and maybe riveted or bolted around the notch for the shock.

The material I found on mine, which was original, was more like cloth. My car is a 1940 Custom Super Eight.

Like a heavy canvas ?
That makes more sense after lookig at all the curves that the material has to make.

No. Actually very thin. I have not replaced it, so I'll try and get a photo of what it looks like.
