Kickdown sw has the single nut on the threaded stem. If the R11 and the wires are all the same length, be sure to identify which two go on the bottom terminals and which two on the top terminals.

The accelerator sw is held with sheet metal screws into the firewall. Once the cotter key or retainer holding the link between accelerator linkage and lever is removed you can just remove the screws at top and bottom of sw and take it off.

HH 56 - Looks like the R 9 Kick Down switch had only two wires and the later R 11 had four wires. And look like a 7/8 inch wrench to remove the switch - Right ?

Yes, only 2 wires for the R9 kickdown switch and 7/8" is the wrench size.

How are the two wires attached to the accelerator switch ? I don't see any screws like on the other switch. Also, I have a least five cut wires coming through the firewall. Trying to determine what they go to.

I believe the proper type connector was a Douglas terminal and while those are still available, are more specialty items and are usually mail order. An acceptable substitute can be made with a modern crimp on .157 size bullet terminal available at most parts stores.

It has a slightly different shape but fits the terminal on the switch. If you remove the plastic insulator off the terminal and solder the wire instead of crimping, then cover the connection with a piece of rubber insulator sleeve or heat shrink it is indistinguishable.

On the wires exiting the firewall, if you can supply more info on where they start I can probably help figure out where they go.

They do but there is a piece of spring metal in the switch terminal that sort of sits in a recess in the wire part which keeps it from pulling out too easily. The phenolic base material may be brittle so don't tug too hard.

If the terminal seems tight and doesn't want to release, use the blade of a small screwdriver behind the wire directly on the switch side of terminal to hold against the pull of the wire. You can grab the wire part with needlenose pliers and pull it out.

The same terminals are used on the solenoid mounted on the control valve if you are going to remove that -- also probably on the on/off switch in the dash.
