53 288 - which heater hose do I put the flush kit in? The one from the water pump or from top of head? What's in the square metal box just behind the air filter? Heater core? Thanks

The most effective way is to separately reverse flush the radiator and block. Use one of the water/compressed air flushing guns if you can borrow one. You might consider a chemical (oxalic or citric or hydroxyacetic acids) rinse and flush beforehand.

Flushing the heater core is best done independently from the rest of the cooling system.
