I am installing a 1948 B/W R11 OD transmission into my 1940 120 Club Coupe. I'm posting here because you guys know more about parts related to Post War cars. Does anyone have a P/N or a source for the bushing on the casing tailpiece next to the u-joint yolk? Mine is not leaking as I can see but for good measure, I would like to replace it for prevention while its on the bench. Thanks!

Did you try Max Merritt or one of the other dealers? Is it in the Parts Cross-Reference here on this site? I can’t imagine it being a hard part to find and you’re right, replacing it now along with the seal is a good idea.

I only found the nomenclature for the parts in the Borg Warner R11 Service Manual.

I just replaced all the gaskets and seals on a 1951 R11 and had no issue whatsoever in finding the parts. Merritt had all the seals and Olson’s had all the gaskets. However, I believe the rear seal on the pre-1951 type is different so I got one for an earlier one that I also had from one of the other dealers although I don’t recall which. Packards Southwest, I think, but I’m not sure.
