Need Propper Auto-Park Relay Bypass Wiring Diagram

Long story short...
I'm trying to get my TL system working. Someone cut the purple wire (w/7.5 amp fuse) from the TL solenoid's buss-bar and attached it to two yelloe wires that are attached to the Auto-Park relay. The purple wire continues down to the stop light switch. The stop light switch has two dark green and one purple wires attached (no light green wire). I need the correct Auto-park relay bypass wiring diagram and instructions, if someone would be so kind. Many thanks in advance.

Look in the STB's or SC's available as a PDF download in this forum. There is also an index for the STB"S and SC's/

Will save you the trouble of looking it up.packardinfo.com/xoops/html/downloads/STB/56T-25.pdf
Sounds like a really interesting mod someone did--trying to find a convenient switched power source for the TL maybe. You mentioned two yellow wires so you must have an early loom. I believe one of the yellows was changed to white in later cars to avoid confusion.

I believe that the mechanic that replaced the brake light switch did this cutting and splicing. after he had finished, my brake lights worked and my TL system didn't.
BTW-that was just before my BTV gave out and I almost wrecked my baby.

AHA!! The BTV probably failed because the yellow wires should have been connected to the fluid reservoir cap. When you step on the brakes then the car goes into automatic park and stops on a dime

Bob, when you do an autopsy on your BTV, please come back and tell us what component actually failed and how.
Although I don't know if I would trust that mechanic to do anything to my car. Find one who can read a wiring diagram.

Fred,
That's hilarious, although at the time, I had no sense of humor. Randy, I have long sense replaced my BTV with a modern master cylinder and booster (Craig's method). I don't know why the BTV faiked and I trust it as much as I trust that mechanic. I'll trace the wires and normalize the TL system, by-pass the auto-park and fix the brake light switch at the same time! Talk about multi-tasking ![]()
