You have hydraulic lifters, so don't even think about removing the filter. And note bypass filters typically filter to a higher (cleaner) standard than full-flow, though at lesser volume.

Many people ask "what good is it". It is just as useful as the filter on a swimming pool and most of us wouldn't swim in a public pool without one. Sure, it doesn't help if someone or something is throwing in chunks (the floating pickup helps keep them out), but it keeps the oil free of all manner of abrasive fines and sludge. Pm me if you still need the lower tube.

Ok that debate is over, I'm keeping it lol
Now to find a new fitting for the bottom of the filter. The new lines don't fit it - or the threads are warped - but I did notice that the oils lines that were on there were nothing like the reproduction ones from Classic Tube.
