Was a third bumper guard or Dagmar in the front bumper ever an option?

I saw a Patrician that has this odd third bumperette, in the center of the front bumper. It looks so well made, that I doubt if it was made locally. Was it ever an option offered by Packard?

I am asking only for curiosity. If I had a chance to get it, which I don't, I wouldn't, as I really prefer the regular look without it.

Thanks,
victor

I saw something similar to that in the movie "Total Recall".

I've never seen that third "dagmar" on any 55 or 56 Packard. Must have been some previous owner that thought it looked good. Beauty is in the eye...

I am getting old. Took me a full minute for that to sink in and make me smile.

Whoa! That third dagmar is like passing a bad car wreck. I can't stop looking and I want to gouge my eyes out.

LOL, I figured that anyone who has seen the movie would have got it. "Makes me wish I had three hands!"
