Parts book lists either white or black for the 54 Caribbean; for the 53 Carib they only list a single part # without specifying the color so I expect white was the only offering. It used white Orlon with a white inside facing. If correctness matters, a white synthetic top, white bows, and pads to match the inner top color. You might chat with Bill Hirsch and Eric Haartz about choices of top materials, Orlon is NLA as far as I know. PS, the bows are not a "pure" white but more white than ivory.
