Hi All,

I am trying to work out how to fill / replace the oil in the front shock absorbers in my 1934 Packard. I am finding the front shocks ae noisy, and after they warm up after 10 minutes of driving they are fine for the rest of the day. Hopefully one the oil is changed or filled it will fix the issue.

Many thanks,
Mat

Remove the filler plug (small hex-head with screw slot), top off the fluid, and if possible disconnect the link and stroke the arm several times to expell trapped air. Then recheck fluid level.

My preference for units with lots of accumulated mileage is for SAE 30 hydraulic fluid.

Curious if you would recommend the same type of oil for the my Houdaille shocks.
