They only have one older Packard. I need older ones on the layout - like this.

1:43 may be too large for your layout but Sinclair Miniatures still has one prewar in stock for a semi reasonable price and a couple more that are pricy.miniauto.com/product.sc?productId=3049&categoryId=-1

I suspect the 55 Four Hundred that's featured in the linked page caomes from by Brooklin (with paint billed as white/sardonyx). Miniatures of the V8s used to be unobtainable, but over the last 20 years, they seem to have been fruitful and multiplied.

...my setup is normally 1/27th... Anson (Metal Bodies) had a 34 Packard Victoria in 1:27 scale. I'm not personally not aware of any others (for Packard) in that scale (yet). I've been slowly compiling a list of "Packard in Miniature" (a little over 200 right now), but details are sketchy. The amount and accuracy of information varies greatly among sites of sellers and collectors.

Several years ago, a vendor turned up at Warren with two boxes of Anson 1/27th models. One of Peerless and one of Packard. I bought them both. They contained six autos each. I gave several of the Peerless away but only two of the Packards. Here's what I still have, hiding under the platform.

Perhaps I should explain my 1/27th scale. My track gauge is 2 1/8 inches. Real railroad is 4' 8 1/2 inches.
4' 8 1/2" divided by 2 1/8' is 113/2 X 8/17. 904/34 = 26.58 rounded up to 27.

Randy,
So "N" and "HO" scale are not what you are working with. Is this the standard "Lionel" train scale?

Lionel invented "Standard" gauge in 1906. They started manufacturing "O" gauge, which was invented much earlier, in 1915. The Lionel you knew in the fifties and can still buy today is "O" gauge. Standard gauge (or WIDE gauge)is a little less than twice the size of "O" gauge.
Standard gauge = 2 1/8 inches. O gauge is 1 1/4 inches. I run and collect mostly Standard gauge, although I do have "O" gauge and also #1 gauge (1 3/4 inches). There - more than you ever wanted to know(lol). There are many people who have a foot in both camps, cars and trains. I know many of them and we share a love for both.
