Best Other has right and left spot lights mounted. They are not dummies. I had a 20 inch long drill bit made because once you start drilling you must continue in a straight line clean through the dash. The fellow who made the drill for me also loaned me a much smaller diameter drill and the accompanying bushing to drill a pilot hole because he surmised that the large drill would just ride the curve of the fender and screw up the project.
I can take close-ups if you want.

Looks like I'll be giving you a ring Randy to discuss further. I'd love to see the close ups too. Maybe Weds or Thurs evening. Thanks.

Randy -
You sure are getting a lot of mileage out of that pic, which I took at the Warren meet back in 2003, using nothing more than a a clunky old 1.3MP digicam (with AF).

I had thought that a spotlight might be cool on the Bumblebee, but in light of what I've just read, I'm getting cold feet ...

You can make a lot of really neat things from the parts left over after you rebuild your engine ...

I'm surprised that there is not some kind of modern electronic e-gizmo for articulating the a spot lite that would require much less drilling.
On the other hand with some recent disussion of headlite/circuit breakerproblems a spotlite mite be a very wise decision. I like fog litres for that reason. I do fair amount of nite driving on snakey roads. Headlites suddenly go out BIG PROBLEM, FAST!!!!!!!

OK, here are some pics I took.
You should get a template which you tape to the fender to show you exactly where to drill the three holes for the mounting bracket. The bracket should also come with a bushing to guide the 1/2 inch drill bit. As I said, the machinist loaned me a much smaller 20 inch bit and made a bushing to fit that bit as a guide. Patience is a key word here as I let the drill do the work and did not rush the job. As far as friends not letting friends mount spotlights, I didn't know you then Rodger.
