This is an AUTOLITE Battery Charging Station. Batteries go on the shelves and leads with rings on the end of them are placed over the terminals

Is the Packard sign top for the car company or for Packard Electric?

Any idea what was in the opening?

Do not recall what was in the opening, I'll look at mine this week. These were in Packard dealers, stood for Packard autos

If you could take some pictures that would help me out.

I bought this years ago at a swap meet. For some reason the auto-lite words were painted over with different colors. I think it was in a body shop or paint mixing area. I took some paint thinner and removed enough to see that it said Auto-Lite on it.

Here are the photos of the one that we have here at Kanter Auto. One of the photos is an up close of the ring attachments for charging.

Yours is the same but different than mine. I'm guessing yours is a later design. Yours is a square shelf with legs at the ends.

I don't see the metal rods going horizontal in the opening.

I still would like to find out what was in the opening, I'm guessing seasonal advertising.

Question: Why is this page always larger than other ones? At least it is on my iMac. Others seeing the same? It only happens with the Kanter posts and threads.

JW, I've noticed that also on my Windows PC. As you say, only with Kanter threads. Mystifying to me.
