The clutch

A schematic explanation of the collaboration of clutch parts.

<iframe title="YouTube video player" width="480" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/GRDWO5qo_iI" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Another video practical explaining how a clutch works. It additional shows the aligning mandrel, a special tool to center a clutch disc and exemplifies the probably irratating fact that the directional movement (the axial displacement) of a clutch disc works against the force action. To "press the clutch down" is everyday language and means to press the clutch pedal down but to depress (to disengage) the clutch disc.
