Loss of Interest due to economy?

Is it just me that I have noted a slowdown of postings and overall interest? Maybe it's just that I'm feeling the economic pinch and I'm the one loosing interest?

I have reserved a room for the Laughlin, NV Packard run in Nov. and planned to tow my 56 Exec. but it looks like that plan has all but disapperared due to the unavailable tow vehicle. I have to ready my Packard for the 2K mi. trip. I don't like the idea of getting stuck in BFE.

Someone cheer me up, Please.

I think lots of folks were in Hershey this past week. Also I always notice a "lull" in website activity over the summer as people are on vacations and are out and about with their cars enjoying the nice weather.

The dead of winter always sees the most traffic on the website as cars are put away for the winter, and folks need their Packard fix for the day.

Also you want to come, because when/if the River Fun Run turns into a "big thing" you can say you were at the first one!

I don't post a lot, (too little knowledge) but check in and view more than ever. Now if I could only find a '55 Clipper worth buying...,

I know the feeling Hank. Hence why some of the painting I need to do is on hold until pay day comes around. Automotive paint is expensive! It isn't like buying a gallon of house paint from Lowes.

You CAN paint your car with that kind of paint! Here's a picture of me painting a 1989 Chevy Caprice as a faux cop car in back of my garage for the upcoming movie "Eldorado". By the time this project got to this phase, there was no $ left for decent paint, so I bought black and white house paint from the local Wal-Mart. The "trick" was 90 psi line pressure and thinning the heck out of the paint.

Here's the finished car parked in front of the Short Branch Saloon in Crystal, NV with the yellow "Hannah Bird" parked behind. When the movie was over, the beat up Caprice was sold to a young Airman (Air Policeman) at nearby Nellis, AFB.

The house painted car didn't turn out too bad. I'll bet that if one put a coat of clear over it, it would have made an acceptable "driver".

But Packard owners are all rich lol.

The superb Indian summer weather has kept me out doors and away from the keyboard for the last week or so. Maybe some of your other members from the Northeast are enjoying it too.

Lol...neat Craig. But I will stick with single stage urethane which I think will be better in the long haul.
