I have a 1955 Caribbean and would need information on what color paint was used in the engine compartment. I am talking about the left and right inside of the fenders. I understand that the firewall is in an ivory color. But the left and right side seems to be a dark or black.
The car itself has the navy blue/light blue and white color pattern
Any information is appreciated.
Walt

You might want to review this extensive thread on Engine Bay detailing on a '56 dual carb car.

A lot of good info came to light on the 55-56 cars. In fact, this post from Ross provided some documented insight on why the inside of the fenders are painted the way they are.
