I think by 1975 I'd owned 5 Packards, and had 2 at the time. Gosh, seems so long ago.

I would have been 8. Already skipping school and giving my parents fits. Used to hang out in the garage during the winter (detached from the house). I would sit in my mother's Packard (the one I now maintain) and read books. I would hang a shop light in the car to keep warm and give me light to read by. Great times. Until my mother figured it out...

I had just turned the age where hippies said not to trust anyone over and also bought the first Packard of my own. First since driving Dads 51 thru high school--a 56 Patrician.

The year I received my undergraduate degree from Tulane University, and went to sea as an Ensign in the United States Navy. Seldom a thought of Packards at that wild time.

I'm still doing the same thing today that i was doing in '75. i.e. Driving obsolete junk and trying to figure out where my next meal is coming from.
There's an old hippie saying: "If u can remember the 60's and the 70's then u probably weren't a part of it." "Tune in, turn on and drop out" THe older i get the more i believe the old hippie saying that HH56 cited above: " Never trust anyone over 30". And what's more, i'm still trying to figure out who shot J.R. on the TV series Dallas.

I was a Sophmore in High School, and Packards were just coming on the radar for me.

Happy belated birthday, Eric.
In 1975 I was 12, just beginning to get interested in antique cars as a friend's dad bought a '56 Continental Mark ll. We got into it and my dad and I attended our first trip to Hershey in '78. '34 Roadsta, The only time I hid in the garage during school though, was when 3 of my friends and I got drunk on ancient whine from my grandmother's house, sitting in my '41 Plymouth when I was 14. But at least we did not go anywhere - as I remember the rear end was on blocks!

By 1975 I had two identical 1954 Caribbeans. I went to my first national meet in 1973.
