Build slips on V8s are mostly a stumble upon it type thing if they are still in the car. Posters have reported finding them in nooks and crannies inside body recesses next to fenders, under carpet on tunnel top, top of glovebox, under rear seat frame etc. Just no consistent place. The Studebaker archive has some records for a few 56 models. Others will have more information on which models and if that's a possibility.

On your dash pad, are the vents present and just the pad is ratty or exactly what is it you need to do. There are various things that might be an option depending on what is needed.

The Studebaker National Museum has, in its archives, productions records for all 56th Series models EXCEPT Four Hundred (5687), Caribbean Hardtop (5697), and Caribbean convertible (5699), which are in the hands of a private collector.
