You'll find that routine, on-car, service of the V8 distributor is much easier if you get a good old-timey milk crate (the real deal, not one of these cheap, flimsy imitations sold in mass-market stores) to stand on. A milk crate makes for a pretty good stool to sit on, too. You'll find they're a staple item in many shops.

Heck, get two crates, and you can load one up with spare parts, keep it in the trunk, and then you'll have a step/stool for roadside emergencies.

Cheaper than a pertronix converison.

Thanks! Good advice all! and yeah she hes her nics and scratches but still sweet! I am gona fix every drip, service every part and then drive it damn near every day and on road trips so I want to get her right as a Packard broke down on the side of the road is embarrassing to all of us! Steve
