I installed a 14ga wire in lieu of the smaller one, I must say it (or something ) has made the car run well today.
my back ground is water and air flow but electrical flow is out of my realm, but the smaller wire didn't look right to me.

You may find an exact value somewhere but typically your ignition coil will draw less than 5 amps. Chart courtesy Packard Electric.
