Great looking cars Owen. THe front fenders seem a bit longer and lower than the sedans and convertibles???? Or is it just an optical illusion???

Most, if not all of the replicas have metal bodies and are mounted on authentic Packard 12 chassis.

The Roxas replica bodies are wood and steel as original, so perfect it's pretty damn hard to distinguish them from the originals unless you're a real expert on these like West. Chassis for the phaetons that I've seen are standard 1108 Packard V12 chassis, usually from a sedan; at least such was the case with the Joe Albanese Roxas-bodied phaeton.

...metal over wood, that's what I meant. I'm not familiar with any well-done phaetons or boattails that are not done that way. And you are correct, unless you're keeping up with who owns the originals, you can't tell one from another.

Packard V8, these are custom bodies, I doubt that any major body panels interchange though a small handful of trivial body panels might.

The boattails are actually built on the 1104 Super Eight chassis and fitted with a 12-cylinder engine, and are designated as 1106. Among the unique items on the boattails are the hubcaps, as the wheels are different from the 12s.
