Oh, okay. Thanks for the added information. Looks like I have several good options.

I used a piece of flat shelving brace, rolled the end and turned up the other end.
I drilled 2 holes and added some # 6 screws and nuts to clamp them in place .
Actually used vice grip to compress the opening to insert screws so I did not depend on the screws to compress the metal.
Then added some sheet rubber for the hood to sit on.
