The original plastic is more "marbled" ( I recall seeing anall- original 180), but it still seems a fine value

When you say "more marbled" do you mean the yellow part or the wood grain part. Is it acceptable the way it is?

The car is definitely a legitimate 180. You can't fake those the same way as convertibles. But heck, if you want a value there is a 35 eight phaeton for $69 grand. The only thing I don't like is the color - red. But it's a genuine car because it is on the small chassis. And a lot cheaper to run I might add.

The prices people are expecting for some of these cars is nuts. It might be good for restoration shops, but it's not a hobby when everybody thinks they are going to make a fortune.

The ivory-colored Tenite plastic. Still looks like a fine car

Tim are saying this 180 is priced too high? If the interior is truly original and the mileage accurate I was thinking it's worth more in the $30-$35K. But I'm not sure as usual :)

I think Tim is referring to the convertible he notes in his post. The 1940 180 is a great price for what you (seem) to get. (Caveat: see in person or have someone look at it for you)

I love the formal C area (not really a pillar).

$27,000 is still a LOT of money to me and I can't afford this car right now but for those with the kind of money to purchase this great of a car it is a bargain and would be a great car to own as a hobbyist.

I restore the car, and the car restores me.

Hi

Two more '37's to consider, both 115 Six sedans:

First, nicely-restored, sand tan, reasonably priced:
phoenix.craigslist.org/nph/cto/5148931358.html

Second: also restored but with 'tastefully upgraded interior' (ghastly!), dolled-up with a 'classy' RR flying lady, gilding the basic Packard lily a bit, pricy:

P.S.: Knew you couldn't wait to see it!
