On the 180, I should of known better than to argue with a Packard owner who has been driving Packards since my folks were kids

What's wrong with this car, it has been for sale for a long time, and not many 35 super eight's come up for sale. Maybe the price?

I would definitely say the price, I just don't see it bringing that kind of money in the current market. Eventually the seller will figure it out or maybe not...

Price. Awful nice car though. So many variables. If someone is looking "hard" for a nice pre war Packard in the larger series, then I believe this community has posted several for less money, much less money in some cases. If you include significant post war Packards then $69,000 should buy you a nice Custom 8 convertible, Station Sedan or Carribbean.

Since CL ads are free and can renew so easily, sometimes sellers that don't really need to sell put their car on CL at a "premium" price and if it sells great, if not, no problem. When they get serious about selling a car, it's either going in the CNB, ebay or an auction.

I restore the car, and the car restores me.

Hi

A few pre-war choice pickings:

A nicely-restored '29 640 seven passenger sedan, not inexpensive but worth it by the looks:
http://buffalo.craigslist.org/cto/5165805258.html

A '37 115 Six sedan, claims 13,000 miles, original condition, pricey but interesting if actually that low mileage.
http://baltimore.craigslist.org/cto/5122142555.html

A '40 110 coupe, decent driver condition:
http://hudsonvalley.craigslist.org/cto/5164769006.html

A handsome '41 120 coupe, nice exterior restoration, questionable (mouse fur?) interior and details for the price:

8-12-2015, added a few Contours:

A '52 200 sedan, if not rusty or bondo-buggy, good start:

A '53 Clipper Deluxe, stick with overdrive, no pictures:
http://hartford.craigslist.org/cto/5157846641.html

Three '54 Clipper sedans:
Special, 288, stick, rough, parts car, $500 cheap:

Super, Stored since 1970, 55K, offered by original owner's family:

Super, Continually-maintained, daily driver, black:

Wow Steve, that '52 200 in Watertown sure looks like familiar. I could buy it and have the beginnings of a fleet.

Hi

HA52, thought of you immediately when I saw that two-tone gray 200...!

More Contours and Teagues:

A '53 Clipper Deluxe, claims 8,700 original miles:
http://stillwater.craigslist.org/cto/5169104234.html

A '54 Clipper Deluxe, solid, pricey for its condition:
http://stlouis.craigslist.org/cto/5153705751.html

That early '55 Clipper, languishing on L. I., cheap:
http://longisland.craigslist.org/cto/5144525047.html

A rough '55 Patrician, notes "engine is a flathead":
http://philadelphia.craigslist.org/cto/5161907990.html

A decent-looking '56 Clipper Super sedan, check for NY rust, if solid, good for the price:
http://albany.craigslist.org/cto/5155217647.html

Steve

Plus, one sweet '47 Clipper Six, will need re-upholstery at some point:

Two things I noticed about the '47 Clipper Six: The carb cooling tube and the Egyptian ornament. I wonder how well the tube works? Love to have the ornament.
