I looked up the auction company for that sale: 20% selling fee for anything over $500,and 10% buyers premium, if you pay cash!

If a car brings $10,000 (for calculations sake):

Buyer gets $8,000
seller pays $11,000
auction company makes $3,000

That's what they call highway robbery

Hi

Unfortunate that auction is so poorly publicized and the fees excessive, interesting group of cars and parts.

A few more western pre-war Junior postings:

A '36 120 Touring Sedan, nice-looking, needs some interior repair/replacement:

A pair of '38 Eights, sedan plus what's left of a convertible sedan, projects, very pricey:

Finally, a $1,500 '41 110 coupe project but a deal!:

This '56 seemed very exciting until I had it inspected about a year ago. After years in the Kepich warehouse, It has sat outdoors a long time. The complete mechanics will need to be gone through to return to the road. 5K would be stretching it.
Sad.

I understand he loves his 56 but too bad he doesn't even know where the ballpark is.

Hi

Unfortunate that '56 400, shame to let it deteriorate outside but that seems to happen too often. More '56 400's to consider:

Gorgeous green and white, looks wonderful!:
http://inlandempire.craigslist.org/cto/5139642654.html

Or red and white, not quite as nice but potential to be:
http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/hnp/cto/5151770411.html

Or, deteriorating under the California sun:
http://losangeles.craigslist.org/sfv/cto/5145333111.html

Or how about a '55 400, light blue and white:

Hi

Wow! That's the very last '54 Packard limousine built! Actually, the last Packard limousine ever built! Certainly is an interesting and worthwhile group of cars.

Were I well-healed, that '35 Super Eight Convertible Victoria could gladly consume much of my fortune for restoration....and not bother me a bit.

If someone attends, please give us a follow-up report.

Looking at the pictures I'm not sure it's a super eight, it might be an eight.
