Thanks. I personally don't think they look that great, but there's good penetration without burn through, so that will work for me. Once I get welding on the outside of the body is were I will start getting really particular on how things look.

I just bought that same 135 welder from Eastwood. They had free shipping, so I couldn't find an excuse not to get it. I will be doing floor pans very soon, so wondered how you liked the welder?

Kev,

I have one of those types of lanterns, a Craftsman I bought on eBay years ago, NOS condition. It is 6v and the battery and bulbs are still available.

Oh, very cool. I may have to get this one working and keep it in the truck of the Clipper!

Was the a gasket used between the toe-board and the remove brake access panel on the toe board? I don't see evidence of one on mine, but that doesn't mean it wasn't there before.

I also have a couple of those lanterns - one made by Burgess and the other by Mallory.

On V8's at least and since they are essentially the same piece, suspect on all. Even though parts of it stuck to floorboard, this one appears to have been cemented onto the toe board and is the typical cardboard/asphalt/whatever material used for sound and insulation elsewhere. Even if it didn't have it originally, think it would be a good idea for something as anti squeak if nothing else.

Thanks for the that info Howard.

No real work on the car lately. I was very busy over the holiday weekend, and work is just insane this month. Lots of projects to get completed before I head out to Hartford, CT in a couple of weeks for business.

I did stop last night at Harbor Freight I buy some Roloc grinding discs so I can finish dressing all the welds in the tight areas where my 4 1/2 grinder can't get into.

Also I order some seal sealer to dress all the joints with. I hope to get some grinning done tonight and also start working on the couple of spots of repair needed in the rear pans.

I just hope the heat is not as bad as I was yesterday when it was 105f. Labor day we had rolling thunderstorms in the area. Odd to hear thunder at 10am when it is usually cooler outside. I am ready for some cooler, and less humid weather.
