Don Hull pointed out to me that the car in the illustration actually does not appear to be a Packard (Radiator Shape). But is simple another car labeled as a Packard.

Kevin, thanks for posting the Detrich article. One of the cars pictured is one that I knew for many years. Here is a photo of that car with Ray Detrich and its owner Al Dumrose. Al was a long time customer of my father and from time to time that grand '37 V-12 would be in the service area.

Glad you liked it. I am finding interesting content as I sort through collection I inherited. Both Dan and his father clipped magazine and newspaper articles about Packards going back to the 50's. So lots of neat little tid-bits in there. One of the things he had was PI magazines that went back into the mid 60s. There are also Earl C Anthony PAC Chapter newsletters going back pretty far also.

It kinda of a hodge-podge of Packard related items. So stay tuned for more to come.

Also sorry for the delay in my response. The wife and I took a little mini-vacation to the central California cost to do so sightseeing, and visit Hearst Castle. So almost 700 miles roundtrip in 3 days.

Kevin, I hope you had warm and clear weather in Cambria. When we visited the Castle a few years ago, it was so foggy we could not see across the pool. Took the coast highway, at least in one direction?

No fog, but there was a bitter cold wind blowing in from the Ocean. I really like that area of the Central Coast where the Pine trees meet the ocean, and the mix of sandy beach and rocky cliffs. A large colony of Elephant Seals were ashore a coupe miles north of Cambria and were sunning themselves on the beach.

If I hit the lotto and could retire with money in the bank, then I would love to buy a small house up there in Cambria. Gorgeous rural part of Californian coastline that very few people ever see. One moment you're in rolling grass plains with grazing animals, then you're in Pine forests. On the Hearst lands there are wild herds of Zebra and Barbary Sheep, and other grazing animals that were set free from Hearst private zoo back in the 40s and have done very well on their own.
