Yesterday I had time to cut the initial hole in the rear deck for the gas tank filler neck. When I get the grommet the hole will be opened up to accommodate it. I picked up the gas cap at the recent Packard meet in South Bend. It has been stripped of its paint and is ready for chrome. The neck extension was made in my machine shop.
I like the way it's looking.

The intake manifold and headers are taking shape. This week may result in finished products. Polishing the stainless steel headers is a time consuming dirty job.

Thanks cli55er... I'm going old school with a carburetor. I'm using a Webber 2 barrel with progressive barrels.

The manifold is done and the headers are taking shape nicely

Tonight I just finished the fabrication of the radiator and grill assembly! Tomorrow I hope to find time to check the hood fit with the cowl and grill.

The grill and radiator assembly is nearly finished... next the hood goes on for fitting and adjusting. The original lower frame was badly pitted and nearly rusted away... now it has been replaced with 1/4" cold roll steel bar. The bolts that attaches the grill assembly to the frame have been purposefully left out to ensure that the hood gaps are near perfect. When I get a good fit the bolt locations will be marked then installed.
On the radiator the bottom hose connection has been changed. A new flanged hose connection has been made and attached to the engine block. The inline electric water pump is clamped to the frame in position. A couple of hours and the radiator plumbing will be wrapped up.

I'm hoping to get a lot done this weekend...

Saturday morning I spent about 5 hours working on the doors. The right hand door is getting skinned and I am adding a body line to the top of the drivers door. More details on that later.

In the afternoon I spent a little time on my hood ornament... I've been shaping a goddess of speed casting I bought on eBay for the past few months with detail files... yesterday I cut the base of her down and cut a slot in my radiator cap and put them together. Now a little more shaping and some brazing then off to chrome.
