About the '53 Patrician: I would rather do an interior than fix body rust. The car appears to be solid and complete and except for the afore mentioned interior, most attractive. If the car is as solid and mechanically sound as the photos seem to show, then it could make someone a nice Contour Senior Packard. Negotiate the price down for one-half the cost of a new interior and away you go!

Hi JW

" I would rather do an interior than fix body rust." Ahem to that! I know of two '53 Cavaliers here in western New York, both currently stored inside but not before the climate exacted rust damage and chrome deterioration. If that LA car is mechanically right, re-doing the interior would be more cost-affective than restoring either car here, even with transport costs.

For reference, here are photos of a '53 Patrician that showed up on eBay years ago. Checking Mr. Neal, it would be the Set Number 801, Dark brown broadcloth combined with tan broadcloth. Not as flashy as magenta mouse-fur but far more luxurious, befitting a Packard.

It's a 36 and I prefer the 36 120 over other years; I like the dash so much better than the later models, and I like the increased cubic inch over the 35, although the 35 has suicide doors. I sold my 36 120 original business coupe and there are still days that I miss it, if I find the right 36 I might be convinced to buy it.

I don't know what happened, but I got a call from the guy that bought my 36 coupe and wants to sell it (wondering if he reads this site). I'd like to get it back but financially I'm in a little rough spot so to say, and I sold it in a local auction for more than I think it was worth. He told me to make an offer...

Hmmm, not convinced you should by it then?? Something like that doesn't come along very often. And who knows you can always take it back down to the auction and sell it for more again.
