1938 Super eight sedan.
@O_D They have the original ID from the decal and wrote it on the wood in the door. classiccarsinplano.com/1938-packard-1603-4-door-touring-sedan-us-22500/

A '54 for restoration. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm assuming from the dash that it is a higher-end model?

Yes, by the rear door outside trim it's a Cavalier, the senior Packard line's entry model. It shared the same instrument panel and body shell as the Patrician but used the 327 engine in place of the Patrician's 359. The interiors weren't trimmed as luxuriously as the Patricians were either.

These 3 V12's have been featured 1 time or another but I wanted to post them together so its a little easier to compare:
1937: losangeles.craigslist.org/ant/cto/5434213595.html Another 1937: palmsprings.craigslist.org/cto/5450851913.html And a 1938: inlandempire.craigslist.org/cto/5426258838.html Also I wanted to add this 1. I looked at it last summer in Santa Monica where it was being auctioned off. If you're interested in this vehicle make sure you check it out before the auction. It was documented that it rolled over early in its life and you can tell when you look up close. hemmings.com/classifieds/cars-for-sale/packard/twelve/1808212.html
