Beautiful car. I see it has the floor heater that I think worked off the heat from the exhaust pipe didn't it? Would love to know.

The exhaust type hot air heaters which Packard and other premium car makers offered were manufactured by Kelch and were last offered by Packard in 1939, they were an option offered as an alternative to hot water types. Search "Kelch" on this site for more info on these interesting units.

As higher-boiling ethylene glycol based antifreezes continued to replace the older low-boiling methanol, engine thermostats and hence operating temperatures increased the temperature of the coolant, making hot water heaters gradually the more favorable type.
