That's a generalization I've not heard before and based on my own experience, and I'm sure many others will concur, has no validity. Packards had well-engineered cooling systems regardless of models.

Pat. The world of automobiles is full of many so-called "urban legends". Not all of which are factual, but some are. Some urban legends held fact during certain periods of time as one trend or phase of motoring waned and a new trend of phase gained momentum.

I'm guessing that the statements u heard about the overheating of the streight 8 engines was more or less something that someone said in a quick passing remark. Had u cross examined them on their claim they mite have explained better what they really meant.
