Your fuel mileage is fabulous for one of these cars!

Every time I rebuild a carburetor, I think "Why did it take me so long to do this?". They just run so much better, even when nothing is obviously wrong.

I was very impressed with the improved fuel economy! But I am pretty easy on the pedal, I don't like to push my baby too hard. Mind you that all went out the window yesterday when I was working on the kickdown on my transmission!

I had ordered a carb rebuild kit shortly after I bought the car, and it took me 18 months before I rebuilt the carb. I had the exact same feeling, why didn't I do this sooner, runs soooooo much nicer. For some reason rebuilding the carb made me more nervous than replacing valve guides, which made me plenty nervous!

These cars would have been a real treat to drive when they were brand new!
