Guys I know this might be a stupid question but what do you torque the highlighted items to? I tried to tighten the gas tank straps to 30lb/ft but I stopped because it seemed like the top of the tank was going to start to dent from those standoffs on the bottom of the trunk. The astrisks is throwing me of, I read what it means but my dumb ass doesnt understand what exactly it means. I take it as "tighten it up but use caution".... Thanks for the help guys.

OiL pan. Trans. Snug. Even. Not to tight. Or pan will bend.
Tighten as needed to stop drips. Exhaust. I go 25.but I'm using different gaskets.. Ears will bend if you go to tight. So use judgement.. And use anti seize . Gas tank same. Sung it down.. So it doesn't move. When you hit it. Tighten even..

I would also suggest laying a straightedge across the bolt holes from the engine side of the pan and tap down any that are raised. If someone has tried to control a leak and the bolts were tightened a bit too much the cork gasket will compress allowing holes to be pushed up and distorted. That has been an issue for several because the gasket can no longer be compressed very much between holes and seepage can result. Additional tightening to control that seepage just results in a worse situation. This also applies to the transmission pan.

Red. Make sure the set screw is snug first so everything is lined up.

Thanks for such a quick reply Ross... How do I know if the set screw is in proper position? I can't find anything in manual about this...

The shaft has a taper in shaft..
Does the screw have a slit or a hex. The hex is better. Tightening the screw you can feel and see things line up Attach file: 4498_5cb772b8b5799.jpg (39.46 KB)

Which exaust gasket set would you use, the NOS one or the James? Also, the gaskets have one side that seems to have a little more body to it. Is there a way these gaskets need to be installed?
